The Specialness of October
/The truffles, vineyards, antiques, art, and Provençal villages are waiting for you !
Autumn and the specialness of October lives in me. This season is dear to me for many reasons and actually holds the origins of my story and what led me to the life I now live in Provence. More on that in my next blog post. For now, I want to share with you the beauty of this upcoming season and invite you to join us as we count down the days until our Autumn retreat.
October is when most tourists have left and the real village life returns. The harvest of grapes is ending and wine co-ops are busy. The forest is ready for foraging of wild mushrooms and truffle hunts begin.
We take great pride in offering a truly immersive Provençal experience, deeply rooted in the local culture. One of the highlights of our fall session is hunting for autumn truffles at a family-owned farm, lovingly passed down for generations. Learn about truffle farming and hunt for truffles with the most adorable doggies. Then indulge in tasting hors d’oeuvres topped with freshly shaved truffles and savor a truffle-infused dessert. The epitome of autumn in Provence !
There is the scent of fires in the air on cool nights while taking an evening stroll. Sunsets over the Luberon mountains seem to bring their best show of colors at the end of each day.
The fall marchés are full of what the earth is producing ..grapes, walnuts, squashes, pumpkins, fresh brined olives, and apples. The brochantes (antique markets) are uncrowded and offer bargains !
You are invited to connect with local artists and creatives, wander charming medieval hilltop villages, and nurture your creativity in an inspiring setting. You are welcome for a journey that blends the charm of Provence with a creative spirit, leaving you with memories to cherish and a renewed appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Join us for Foraging Provence. October 19-25 . Every detail is taken care of for you to simply experience and enjoy !
